Daniel Guiza Football Player

Daniel Gonzalez Giza (born 17 August 1980) is a Spanish footballer who plays for Fenerbahe S.K. in Turkey, as a striker. A late bloomer, he made a name for himself at the age of 27, being crowned La Liga topscorer with RCD Mallorca. Subsequently, he helped the Spanish national team win the UEFA Euro 2008, and signed with Fenerbahe in Turkey shortly afterwards.
Having started playing on the streets of his hometown of Jerez de la Frontera in Cdiz, Giza used to hide behind trees in an attempt to avoid the running, despite being then coached by boyhood idol Kiko, who begun his professional career with local Cdiz CF. He eventually made it into his local team, Xerez CD and, after one season there, first showed his eye for goal at third-tier side Dos Hermanas CF, loaned immediately after RCD Mallorca bought him. Such performances saw him make his debut in La Liga at the age of 19, but he would fail to perform, being demoted to the B team where he scored 28 goals in 70 games.
Giza was then loaned out to Recreativo de Huelva, but could not find a secure place in the team, and was soon after loaned to FC Barcelona B, where he scored five third division goals. Subsequently, he moved to Ciudad de Murcia in division two, where his career saw a turning point, with two consecutive top-five finishes in the topscorers' list (runner-up in the 200405 campaign). On 8 July 2008, Giza signed for Turkish club Fenerbahe S.K. for 14 million. In his first month, he managed to score twice in the Sper Lig and another two in the club's UEFA Champions League campaign.
Giza ended a long scoring drought on 22 March 2009, with an early goal against Bursaspor, as Fenerbahe lost 21 in the dying minutes of the game. Prior to the beginning of the 200910 season, he scored three against Budapest Honvd FC in the UEFA Europa League third round, in a 51 home win (62 on aggregate), netting his first in the domestic competition in matchday one against Denizlispor, in the first minute of the game. During his first two seasons with the Istanbul club, Giza helped the team to consecutive Turkish Cup finals, netting in the 200809 edition, a 24 loss against Besiktas JK.
Giza was a late bloomer on the international stage, having been first called-up by Spain on 8 November 2007 (aged 27), for UEFA Euro 2008 qualifiers against Sweden and Northern Ireland, as the national team was already qualified for the finals in Austria and Switzerland. He made his international debut against the latter on 21 November, in a 10 home win, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Giza was subsequently selected to the final squad of 23 but, despite being the league's top scorer in that year, still doubted his chances of being picked: "I was really scared I'd miss out, because being the league's top scorer doesn't guarantee you a place".
On 18 June 2008, he made his debut in the tournament, and scored Spain's winning goal against Greece during the dying moments of the last match group stage match. In the quarterfinals, Giza came on as a substitute against Italy, missing the team's fourth attempt in an eventual penalty shootout win. In the semifinal match against Russia, he scored his second international goal, in a 30 win: after receiving a pass from Cesc Fbregas, he quickly side-flicked it over the goalkeeper.

Giza played 15 minutes in the final against Germany after replacing Fernando Torres (who scored the game's only goal), and came very close to assisting Marcos Senna. On 15 October 2008, Giza came on as a late substitute against Belgium and soon after assisted David Villa who scored the winning goal in a close 12 encounter. After an article circulated in January 2009, involving details about personal life and behaviour in training, Giza's international career future was questioned.
Such reports on his behaviour became debatable due to the unreliable sources and any rumours of him being dropped from the Spain team were put to rest when Vicente del Bosque called him up for his services for the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification matches against Turkey, where he solidified his superb performance against Belgium, once again coming on in the dying minutes and assisting a last-minute winner during the match held in Istanbul. On June 1, 2009, Giza was selected to the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup. On June 28, he came from the bench as the national team trailed hosts South Africa (01) in the third-place match, and responded with a spectacular brace in the last two minutes, as Spain eventually won the game in extra-time (32).

Jorge Lorenzo Moto GP Racer

Jorge Lorenzo Guerrero (born May 4, 1987 in Palma, Balearic Islands, Spain), is a Spanish professional motorcycle road racer. He is the 2006 and 2007 250cc World Champion, and the 2010 MotoGP World Champion. He is currently a rider in the MotoGP Class, on the Yamaha Factory Team. Lorenzo made his championship debut on his fifteenth birthday, on the second qualifying day for the 2002 125cc Spanish Grand Prix, after having to miss Friday practice as he was not old enough to race.
Lorenzo dominated the 2007 250cc World Championship. His nine pole positions led to nine victories in 2007, and all his 2006 poles bar Motegi led to victories in 2006. Jorge's victory at Misano in 2007 was his 16th in the 250cc class, making him the most successful Spanish rider of all time in the 250cc GP class with one more victory than Dani Pedrosa and Sito Pons. After being linked with a Yamaha MotoGP ride for 2008, on 25 July 2007 he was confirmed as Valentino Rossi's partner on a two year deal for the 2008 MotoGP season.
Lorenzo made a great start to his MotoGP career, after qualifying on pole for the Qatar night race on March 8 and placing 2nd. He followed this up with pole at the second round in Jerez, Spain and 3rd Position, and pole in round 3 at Estoril, Portugal. He converted this pole into a victory, his maiden win in the Premier Class. In doing so, he became the youngest rider in MotoGP to finish on the podium in his first three races, taking the record from compatriot (and bitter rival) Dani Pedrosa by a single day.By this stage of the Championship, Lorenzo was in joint first place with Pedrosa, but on May 1, 2008 Lorenzo was thrown from his bike during practice for the MotoGP Grand Prix of China.
Lorenzo suffered a chipped bone and snapped ligament in his left ankle, and a fractured bone in his right. He was still able to finish the race in 4th place. Two weeks later at Le Mans, Lorenzo suffered two accidents in the practice sessions but managed to post a 2nd place result. In the following race in Italy he crashed during the race after qualifying seventh on the grid, The next week at Catalunya he experienced his fifth crash in four meetings, the practice session accident forcing him to miss the race.At both Donington Park and Assen, he was observed to be riding more conservatively after a series of injuries, but moved up the order in the later part of the race to finish 6th in each case.
He has commented that he is stronger in the latter parts of races, preferring the bike when it is low on fuel. In the next meeting at Sachsenring, however, Lorenzo crashed out of the race during very wet conditions. Lorenzo suffered yet more injuries to his feet at the USGP at Laguna Seca on July 20, when he experienced his seventh crash in only three months. During the first lap a spectacular highside left Lorenzo with a sore right foot (or ankle) and three broken bones in his left foot, specifically the third, fourth and fifth metatarsals. At Misano, Lorenzo clinched 2nd place. Indianapolis saw him on the podium again this time in third position. He eventually finished the season in 4th position. In 2009, Lorenzo stayed with Yamaha. His season started strongly, with two wins out of four races: in Japan and France.
Two crashes later in the season, during the rain hit British Grand Prix and at Brno hampered his title bid, as he was 50 points behind championship leader Valentino Rossi prompting Lorenzo to claim his chances of winning the title have gone. He won at Indianapolis, while both Rossi and Pedrosa crashed, reducing Lorenzo's gap to Rossi to 25 points. His first corner crash with Nicky Hayden in Australia was a blow to his title chances and Rossi clinched the title with a third place finish in Malaysia.
On 25 August 2009, Lorenzo ended speculation surrounding a possible move to Honda or Ducati by signing a contract to race with Yamaha in the 2010 MotoGP Championship. Ducati reputedly offered him a 15 million dollar contract to take Nicky Hayden's position. Lorenzo broke two bones in his hand in a pocket bike crash pre-season, therefore missing most of the pre-season testing. He fought through the field to finish second to Rossi in the season opener in Qatar, whilst still not fully fit. After Rossi broke his leg in a crash at Mugello, Lorenzo became the title favourite, with a 47-point lead after four wins in the first six rounds. Victory at Assen made him only the seventh rider ever to win in 3 classes at this prestigious circuit.
During a break between the Italian and British rounds of the championship, Lorenzo rode a Yamaha in a parade lap around the world famous Snaefell Mountain Course at the Isle of Man TT. He rode alongside former World Champion ngel Nieto, later describing the experience as 'amazing'. Despite nearest rival Dani Pedrosa making up ground in the latter stage of the season, Lorenzo was still in control with five races remaining. Pedrosa, the only man who could still overtake Lorenzo in the standings, then suffered a broken collarbone during practice, causing him to miss the next two races and virtually guaranteeing Lorenzo would become champion. On 10 October, Lorenzo clinched the title with a third place finish at the Malaysian Grand Prix behind Rossi and Andrea Dovizioso.
Lorenzo has become known for his celebration antics, which have become more frequent over the 2010 season. These have included Lorenzo imitating a spaceman, and Nintendo's mario brothers making an appearance at the trackside. In January 2010, Lorenzo got involved with the Oxfam international confederation's efforts in assisting support for the victims of the 2010 Haiti earthquake.
The character Jorge in the video game Halo: Reach is named for him, after Lorenzo wore a helmet at the 2009 Valencian Grand Prix that replicated a style of helmet from Halo 3. Jorge's tenure in the Fiat Yamaha team has been underscored by an intense rivalry between himself and his team mate Valentino Rossi. This rivalry has resulted in the Fiat Yamaha team being divided.

Hector Barbera Moto GP Racer

Hctor Barber Vall (born November 2, 1986 in Dos Aguas, Valencia Province) is a Spanish Grand Prix motorcycle road racer competing in the MotoGP class aboard an Aspar Racing Team Ducati. Hector began his World Championship career at the age of 15 in the 2002 125cc world championship, under the guidance of Jorge Martnez "Aspar", who teamed Barber and fellow youngster Angel Rodrguez up with the experienced Pablo Nieto.

In his first season Barber established himself as the most promising rider of the three and in 2003 he broke through, with his first victory at Donington Park making him one of the youngest riders ever to win a Grand Prix. A strong finish to the season saw him take third place in the championship and he signed up for a title challenge with Seedorf Racing in 2003. Several inopportune crashes and mechanical failures derailed his hopes but victory in the final race secured the runner-up spot and a factory ride with Fortuna Honda in the 250cc class for 2005.

After two years with the team he moved to Team Toth in 2007. Barber survived a huge crash during the Italian round of the championship on June 1, 2008. Running second behind Marco Simoncelli on the penultimate lap who tried to defend his lead by changing his line on the straight, Barber slipstreamed onto Simoncelli's back wheel and clipped it with his front brake lever. His bike somersaulted through the air, with Barber escaping somewhat uninjured. However, a further crash in practice at Motegi left him with two spinal fractures, ending his season.

In the 2009 250cc world championship, Barber won three races along with five other podium results to finish second to Honda's Hiroshi Aoyama. Barber won the 2009 Valencia Grand Prix, the final two-stroke, 250cc race in Grand Prix history, as the class was to be discontinued in favor of the four-stroke Moto2 class in 2010. On 20 August 2009 it was announced Barber would move to MotoGP in 2010, riding for the Aspar Racing Team aboard Ducati customer bikes. Barber finished the 2010 MotoGP season in twelfth place.
Jorge Aspar Martinez has confirmed Hector Barbera will spearhead his first assault on the MotoGP world championship in 2010. Following Alvaro Bautistas move to Suzukis factory MotoGP squad, Martinez moved quickly to tie up a deal for Barbera while he was in negotiation with the Tech 3 Yamaha squad. Barbera, who currently sits fourth in the 250GP world championship and has won eight GP races in his career, said: I am very happy to be going to MotoGP, as to do so is the dream of every rider in the world.
As a Valencian rider I am especially drawn to the idea of working in the Aspar Team project. "Right now the Ducati is a very competitive bike; the factory won the world championship two years ago and the team and myself have a strong desire to do well. The goal for the first season in the premier class will be to adapt to the new bike and team as soon as possible -in order to get the best results possible. "Now I am going to focus on finishing this season, in which I have six races to go, and when the year is over we will begin work on the new project." Martinez, who was desperate to clinch a deal with current 250GP rider and title contender Bautista, said: It is undoubtedly great news for us to have signed Hector, especially because of our long history together.

"In our previous association we won the Spanish championship and various 125GPs, and I am convinced that we can have further success with this project. I am sure that next year we can get some great results and that this will be a long-term arrangement. "I am hopeful that Hector can become a factory rider, as this will mean that he would have earned some great results with us. For the team it is a dream come true to be able to line up in all three classes, in particular because we do so with a Valencian rider."
Hector Barbera endured a challenging qualifying session at Sepang for the Malaysian MotoGP, which was made worse by a late crash in turn 7. Barbera was unhurt but faces an uphill battle in tomorrows race as the crash prevented him from improving his times and forced him into 15th place on the grid. "Once again we have to start from a long way back. We struggled to improved today but the pace in general is very fast. I am only 1.3 seconds off pole yet I find myself in fifteenth place. It is not a big gap around so a long circuit but we have to improve.
We took an important step this morning and I felt good but this afternoon didnt go so well. As in Japan the main problem is rear stability under acceleration. It is a shame because we did improve but just not enough and we have have to find a set-up that makes the bike easier to handle. I tried to make up time under braking on my last lap but left it too late and the front folded. Team Toth Aprilia rider Hector Barbera has taken provisional pole in a rain-hit qualifying session at Brno.
The session started on a slightly damp track, with the majority of the riders choosing to put in their fastest laps before the rain properly started. Debon was fastest early on in the session, but Pasini and Simoncelli beat heis time respectively. Once Simoncelli posted his fastest lap, nobody was able to knock him off of the top spot for the majority of the session. Towards the end of the session Mika Kallio went to the top of the timesheets after having a relatively quiet session, but Hector Barbera put in the fastest lap of the session after he also had a relatively quiet session. On his in lap after his fastest lap Hector Barbera crashed at the same corner as James Toseland.

Agnieszka Radwanska Female Tennis Player

Agnieszka Radwanska (born 6 March 1989 in Krakw, full name Agnieszka Roma Radwanska) is a WTA Tour Polish tennis player. Her career high singles ranking is World No. 8, which she achieved on 22 February 2010. As of 31 January 2011, she is ranked World No. 10. In 2007, Radwanska became the first Polish player in history to claim a Sony Ericsson WTA Tour singles title when she won the Nordea Nordic Light Open. In 2008, she won three more singles titles: the Pattaya Women's Open, the Istanbul Cup, and the International Women's Open. Radwanska has also reached four Grand Slam Quarterfinals, becoming the first Polish woman in WTA to reach that far in a Grand Slam. On 24 May 2008, she became the first Polish female tennis player to surpass US$1 million in career prize money.
Radwanska is an all-court player as shown with her results on different surfaces. She won three titles in 2008 on hard, clay, and grass courts. She hits consistently on both the forehand and the backhand sides. Her favorite shot is her forehand, particularly the inside-out forehand which is her most powerful shot. Overall she is a very defensive player, also called a pusher, especially against the top WTA players. She is also very accurate with the drop shot and lob.
She lacks much of the "power plays" of other players like Maria Sharapova or the Williams sisters, thus she relies on tactical accuracy and patience on constructing the point before hitting a winner. In addition, Radwanska is known for her gamesmanship. Because of this playing style, several commentators (including former men's pro Wojtek Fibak) have compared her to Martina Hingis, saying that she is "a natural mover who understands the geometry of the court". However, several commentators have also said that Radwanska lacks the serving power and offensive capabilities to become a top 3 player.
In May 2006, Radwanska played her first WTA tournament at the Tier II J&S Cup in Warsaw, where she reached the quarterfinals. In her first match, she defeated seventh-seeded Anastasia Myskina 64, 46, 64. In the second round, she beat Klara Koukalov but lost in the quarterfinals to Elena Dementieva in three sets. In June, Radwanska won her second Grand Slam junior singles title, defeating top-seeded Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the final of the French Open. She reached the top of the ITF rankings and received a wild card for the main draw at Wimbledon.
At Wimbledon, Radwanska lost in the fourth round to second-seeded Kim Clijsters. Radwanska was just the fifth ever wildcard to reach the fourth round of Wimbledon. In August, Radwanska won three qualifying matches to reach the main draw of the U.S. Open. She lost in the second round to Tatiana Golovin. At the Fortis Championships Luxembourg tournament, Radwanska lost in the semifinals to Francesca Schiavone after defeating former World No. 1 Venus Williams in the second round and top-seeded Dementieva in the quarterfinals 75, 62.

At the Tier I Sony Ericsson Open in Key Biscayne, Florida, World No. 49 Radwanska defeated World No. 6 Martina Hingis in the third round 46, 63, 62. She lost to Tathiana Garbin in the next round 63, 64. In May, Radwanska won her first WTA doubles title at the Tier III Istanbul Cup, partnering her younger sister Urszula.
However, in singles, she lost to World No. 2 Maria Sharapova in the quarterfinals. In August, Radwanska won her first WTA singles title at the Tier IV Nordea Nordic Light Open in Stockholm, without losing a set. She defeated Vera Dushevina in the final and became the first Polish player in history to claim a WTA tour singles title. At the U.S. Open, Radwanska defeated defending champion Sharapova in the third round 64, 16, 62. This was the first time that a second-seeded female player had lost before the fourth round since Andrea Jaeger in 1981. Radwanska then lost to Shahar Pe'er in the fourth round 64, 61.
Radwanska upset World No. 2 Svetlana Kuznetsova in the third round of the Australian Open 63, 64. She then defeated 14th-seededed Nadia Petrova 16, 75, 60 to reach her first Grand Slam singles tournament quarterfinal. There, Radwanska lost to ninth-seeded Daniela Hantuchov 62, 62. This tournament was the first time that two female Poles, Radwanska and Marta Domachowska, reached the fourth round of a Grand Slam singles tournament. At the Tier IV Pattaya Women's Open in Thailand, Radwanska won her second career WTA tournament singles title, beating Jill Craybas in the final. In February, Radwanska reached her first Tier I semifinal at the Qatar Total Open in Doha, defeating Dominika Cibulkov in a nearly three hour quarterfinal match 64, 67, 64. Maria Sharapova then defeated Radwanska 64, 63.
In March, Radwanska lost in the quarterfinals of the Tier I Pacific Life Open in Indian Wells, California to Kuznetsova 62, 64. In May, just before the French Open, Radwanska won the Tier III Istanbul Cup on red clay, defeating Elena Dementieva in straight sets. This was her third WTA singles title. At the French Open in Paris, Radwanska lost in the fourth round to third-seeded Jelena Jankovic 63, 76(3). On grass, Radwanska won the Tier II International Women's Open in Eastbourne, United Kingdom, defeating Petrova in the final. At Wimbledon, Radwanska was seeded 14th but defeated fourth-seeded Kuznetsova in the fourth round 64, 16, 75.
She then lost to sixth-seeded Serena Williams in the quarterfinals 64, 60, with Williams becoming the first woman to defeat both Radwanska sisters in the same tournament. At the Olympics in Beijing, Radwanska was seeded eighth but lost in the second round to Francesca Schiavone 63, 76(6). Radwanska was seeded ninth at the US Open and lost to seventhseeded Venus Williams in the fourth round 61, 63. Radwanska stepped in for the ill Ana Ivanovic at the 2008 Sony Ericsson Championships. She defeated Svetlana Kuznetsova 62, 75. She ended the year ranked World No. 10.
Her first tournament in 2009 was the Australian Medibank International Sydney, where she was sixth seed. She won in the first round against Sybille Bammer of Austria 64, 63. In the second round she met Daniela Hantuchov of Slovakia, Agnieszka won in straight sets 63, 75. She reached the quarterfinals, where she lost in three sets to the third seeded and eventual champion Elena Dementieva 26, 75, 46. Radwanska was the ninth seed at the Australian Open but suffered a shock first round defeat to Kateryna Bondarenko in three sets.
At the Open GDF Suez in Paris, Radwanska was seeded fourth and won her first two matches, including a three setter against Russia's Alisa Kleybanova. She was then upset in the quarterfinals by Amlie Mauresmo 62, 60. Agnieszka lost to her sister Urszula in the first round of the Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships 64, 63. With partner Maria Kirilenko, Agnieszka lost in the final of the doubles tournament to Cara Black and Liezel Huber. Radwanska then lost in the first round of the Monterrey Open to China's Li Na even though Radwanska was the top seed. Due to her performance in Tokyo, Agnieszka received a bye into the second round of the 2009 China Open, where she defeated Patty Schnyder, who defeated her sister Urszula in the first round.
She then defeated Mara Jos Martnez Snchez in three sets to go through her eleventh quarterfinal of the year, and then upset fourth seeded Elena Dementieva and 13th seeded Marion Bartoli in straight sets to advance to her first ever final of the year, where she lost in straight sets to Svetlana Kuznetsova. Because of her super run in Beijing, she returned to the Top 10 in the WTA rankings. She entered Linz as the second seed, and reached her third semifinal in as many weeks without dropping a set. However, in her semifinal match, she was stunned by world No. 54 Petra Kvitov in straight sets. In Moscow, she lost her first round match to Maria Kirilenko, therefore qualifying as an alternate for the 2009 WTA Tour Championships in Doha for the second consecutive time.
In Doha, a turn of unusual events saw Agnieszka replace Vera Zvonareva, the first alternate, in the White group after Zvonareva suffered an ankle injury. Zvonareva, who had already stepped in for Safina, would be one of four players to retire at the Championships, joining Safina, Azarenka, and Wozniacki. In her round robin rubber, Agnieszka faced the sixth seed, Victoria Azarenka. Agnieszka won the match, despite Azarenka having built a hefty 64 52 lead. With Radwanska up 46 75 41, Azarenka retired due to cramping. Radwanska's win gave good friend, Caroline Wozniacki, a semifinal berth at the Championships against Serena Williams. For the second consecutive year, Radwanska finished the year ranked World No. 10. Radwanska made the final at the 2010 Mercury Insurance Open, where she fell to Svetlana Kuznetsova. Due to this performance, Radwanska rose to World No. 9.

In her next tournament at the Western and Southern Financial Group Women's Open, she lost to eventual finalist Maria Sharapova in the third round. At the 2010 Rogers Cup she lost in the third round to Svetlana Kuznetsova in three sets. At the US Open she was the No. 9th seed, Agnieszka was upset in the second round by Peng Shuai of China 2-6, 6-1, 6-4. In the doubles draw of the 2010 US Open, Agnieszka and her doubles partner, Maria Kirilenko, were seeded 10, falling to Lisa Raymond and Rennae Stubbs, the number 5th seeds, in straight sets. Seeded 6th at the Toray Pan Pacific Open, she retired in her quarterfinal match due to pain in her left foot after falling behind to Caroline Wozniacki 0-5. At the China Open she lost her opening match to Angelique Kerber 5-7, 7-6(3), 7-5. This turned out to be her last match of the season due to a stress fracture in her foot.
