People's Republic of China is still leading the 2012 London Summer Olympics medal count with 9 golds, 5 silver and 3 bronze followed by the United States of America with 5 golds, 7 silver and 5 bronze both with a total of 17 medal hauls. Philippines is still hoping for an elusive gold medal if not silver and bronze at least for our very least contingent so far of 11 athletes. Meanwhile, Southeast Asian neighbors Thailand andIndonesia on Monday won their first medals at the 2012 London Olympics in the weightlifting competition, where our very own Hidilyn Diaz failed to lift 118kg and settled at 8 spot.
