August 20 and 21 Holiday in Philippines- Ninoy Aquino Day

August 21, 2012 is Holiday in Philippines, what about August 20, Monday? Ninoy Aquino Day will be celebrated on August 21, Tuesday and it was declared as Holiday in Philippines, Meanwhile August 20 is being proposed  to be declared a Holiday as well.

According to Ms. Kris Aquino via Twitter,  August 21 is a Special Non-Working Holiday  and since it falls and Tuesday, August 20 might be a Holiday as well. According to Ms, Kris Aquino she still have to check with President Noynoy Aquino's executive assistant as the proposal for August 20 as Holiday still awaiting signature from Pnoy.

Meanwhile according to TimeandDate.com, the celebration of Eid Al Fitr in Philippines is on August 20 and therefore it is a Regular Holiday.

August 20, 2012, has been declared by Malacañang as a regular non-working holiday in the Philippines in observance of Eid’l Fitrwhich marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

“The President today signed Proc. No. 455 declaring Monday, August 20, 2012 as a regular holiday throughout the country in observance of Eid’l Fitr,” presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda announced via Twitter on Monday, August 13.
