Filipino-American Gymnast Kyla Ross wins Gold for Team USA. Kyla Briana Ross is a Fil-American artistic gymnast and is a member of the Olympic gold medal-winning team "Fab Five" that represented the USA at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
According to the report from GMA News, Ross mother Kiana is half Filipino and half Puerto Rican, while her father Jason is part African-American and part Japanese.
Ross scored 15.133 on the beam and 14.933 on the uneven bars, contributing 30.066 to the US total of 183.596. It was the first gold for American team gymnastics since their last one 16 years ago in Atlanta. It is also their first gold on foreign soil.
